Well, while we say goodbye to Reading, Watford and Sheffield Utd for a season, what does the season hold in store for your team?

I can hardly wait for the start of the new season, and our Ipswich's 1-1 draw with Boston Utd has certainly set my pulse racing. I'm certain of two things; we won't get promoted and we will lose to Colchester at Layer Road.

As you are all probably aware, Ipswich beat Galway United 2-0 last night. I might have to change my mind about our promotion prospects at this rate.

Lets hope Charlton can ship Darren Bent to Tottenham for a ridiculous fee of 10million plus and Ipswich will get 20% of the transfer fee and then something Ipswich hasn't done for seasons can take place - thats buy a decent player, and then maybe our season could start to look up!

P.S. Sheepshanks can keep his dirty hands off the money!

2-0 Defeat at the hands of Lazio. Jim's got some work there.

I know! After all, Lazio were a Serie B team until a few days ago.

Noticed today in the Telegraph, the 'ins and outs' of all the teams in The Championship, Ipswich were the only team not to bring a new player in - says it all!

Bobby Robson had to be taken to hospital ten minutes into today's Ipswich game...so other than the result....lets hope there's not any more bad news.

Fingers crossed for Sir Bobby.

Good result for Southend today beating Stoke one-nil. Freddie Eastwood getting the only goal from the penalty spot.

Yes the seasons started where they left off for Southend and Ipswich, apparantly Southend played the better football against Stoke although Darryl Flahavan made a brilliant double save just before half-time, as for Ipswich - they were comfortable in the first half against Crystal Palace and yes just as last season Ipswich fail to play a full 90 minutes - its going to be a long season unfortunately!

Tim, Tim, Tim.....everything I've read says we were ok, and we've got players to come back, new signings to come, and signings to settle in.

We'll not go down.

Now, that could be for two reasons. Either you know me, or your best sporting memory is jeremy Goss scoring a goal god knows how long ago.

I've just seen your photo....I would have known you're not from Norfolk had I seen it before, as your eyes point the same way.

Good to see Ipswich get the day's biggest attendance (25,400), but surprised to see Birmingham (24,200) West Brom (20,700) and Leeds (22,400) get fewer...especially Leeds. Talk about fickle fans.

Leeds are having to pay very high ticket prices unless Bates has had a change of heart which I doubt. Certainly effected last seasons gates for Leeds.

Completely my own fault for trusting a friend who is an Ipswich fan, he sent me a doctored match repport from the Ipswich Vs Palace game which stated that Ipswich had won convincingly 1-0! After the disaapointing start we had to last season, I could not bring myself to read the match reports. I should have checked for myself before slating the nearest available Ipswich fan in a fit of depression.

So just to make up for it, I luv you OON and Ipswich....Thanks for the win!

Steve.

P.S "We are top the league, Say we are top the league" Come on Palace!

I did wonder, but my feeble mind assumed it was missing something!

Disappointing to see that Ipswich are the only team not able to manage to draw with Woves, despite having a penalty and playing ten men.

That is bad... really bad. :p

Since it started snowing my wife has done nothing but look through the window. If it gets much deeper I'll have to let her in!

If the ball had gone in the net it would have been a goal.
If my Auntie had been a man she'd have been my Uncle.
