It's the best way to see snowfall when it's dark. Personally, I was looking at the lamposts to see if it was snowing from about 6 onwards, I thought i'd invented it until I joined forums

haha! me too

Not sure if anyone else has the Met Office Windows 7 gadget?

MIne says (for Battle) on Sat night / Sun morning

0000 Snow 0C

0300 Snow 0C

0600 Light Snow 0C

0900 Dark Cloud 0C

1200 LIght Cloud 1C

1500 LIght Cloud 1C

1800 Light Cloud 0C

Doesn't look like rain / thaw conditions from that, anyway. FWIW.

Monday lunchtime shows 2C and rain, however, and sleet for Tuesday.

Anyone else watching the precip in the North Sea? The Euro radar shows it better than UK ones at the moment but it looks like it is edging our way?

If the front moves 15+ miles on later forecasts/runs then we shouldn't worry about rain as it'll likely all fall as snow, but is marginal atm but most still suggest about 5cms possible in B&H area but that isn't decided yet of course! currently -1.2C.

Thanks - we are always in the no-mans land and need to just watch and see. METO still saying sleet and temps rising during Sat Night? Maybe thats the air coming off the channel!? Oh how I wish I understood better lol

D'oh ok, I haven't got any lamposts down my road! That's my excuse anyway!

Me neither. I got myself one of these:

Dew Points still at -8c here, not really rising. Temperature has dropped to -1c, my cup of water has stayed frozen all day.
