Emily's 2nd Parents Evening

Posted by snow raven, 22 March 2006 · 55 views

Well, Em has been at school for 6 months (bar about 2 months half term) and tonight we had her 2nd parents evening.

Not really sure what I was expecting (what with 2 full time parents should be culled/put down by the age of 40/or sterilised threads we have had recently) - sorry, have to say, those threads make me die of laughter, really, they do. Like I...

Greedy B*stards

Posted by snow raven, 08 March 2006 · 37 views

This year is the first year we have had to book a holiday during school holidays.

We are going to the Isle of Wight (my favourite haven in the world.... well, in the affordable world). Anyway. Last year, we went in June for 1 week, and it cost (board and ferry ride) £400 for all 3 of us. This year, its costing £700. The reason? We are limited to going...

The Week So Far

Posted by snow raven, 15 February 2006 · 62 views

Oh dear, I am in the mood for chatting. Although don't worry, I have had the hypnotherapy to rid me of waffling.

The week so far........ Sunday, I was nice and relaxed after being off sick from work (now fully recovered) for 2 weeks. First day back was the following day. Panic set in. I was due to take annual leave from Tuesday onwards to spend...

Conjunctivitus - Part 3

Posted by snow raven, 11 February 2006 · 48 views

Its Mr Raven's turn. HA HA HA HA HA HA (sorry, am trying to stiffle the laughter)

I am feeling a lot better. Back to work on Monday, for 1 day. I have the rest of the week off to spend with the lovely mini raven, who is on half term. So, as long as its dry, there will be plenty of trips to the park, and also a trip to HobbyCraft, as she would like...

Conjunctivitus - Part 2

Posted by snow raven, 05 February 2006 · 66 views

My turn this time <_< Been ill for weeks with a cold/chest infection/cough and general exhaustion and low and behold, I woke up this morning unable to prize my eyes open. My left eye took around 2 minutes to open, but my right eye, which has it really bad took a bit longer. Its all horrid, red and swollen - this morning it actually looked like I...

Conjunctivitus (oh Dear)

Posted by snow raven, 24 January 2006 · 40 views

I have no doubt spelt the medical terminology incorrectly (along with half the words in this blog) Anyway, you know what I mean. (oh dear, starting this blog with a waffle - not a good sign)

Anyway, Emily (the lovely mini me) has caught conjuntivitus (sp) We noticed a slightly red eye on Sunday, so I initially treated it with warm water and cotton wall...

Whats Been Going On In The Snow Raven Family?

Posted by snow raven, 17 January 2006 · 45 views

Not a lot to be honest, hence hardly any blog entries for a while (well, 2 weeks <_< )

Had a very nice Christmas, New Year was poo, as I spent the chimes of Big Ben in tears. New Years Day was Emily's 5th Birthday - amazing how quick time flies :nonono: Em has been at school now for 4 months and is getting on really well with her reading and...

A Letter To Father Christmas

Posted by snow raven, 12 December 2005 · 36 views

By Mini Raven:

Dear Father Christmas

My name is Emily, and I am 4. I would like everything (this was erased as I didnt want Father Christmas to think Emily was greedy)

I would like a bratz doll, Barbie doll and a slide. Also a sleigh for snow and Baby Jesus. And a snow shaker with Barbie inside. And a baby doll so I can bath her and a new...

Why? General Questions That Annoy Me In Life

Posted by snow raven, 05 December 2005 · 37 views

1) why do cashiers in supermarkets insist on opening 37 (on the last count) carrier bags and leaving them ready for you while the person before yous debit card goes through (I mean - they have to wait all of 3 seconds - why does the cashier feel the need to do this and clearly at the most, you only need 6 bags at the most for a weekly shop - 12 loo rolls...

Christmas Shopping

Posted by snow raven, 30 November 2005 · 15 views

Arrrgggghhhhhhhhhh!!!!!! :D

But I am pleased to say trawling behind impossibly slow people who suddenly stop infront of me in a packed shopping centre is over for another year. Not to mention some mothers with buggies who can only steer in a straight line (into my dainty ankles).

Just the stuff I can order off the internet...

Chesty Cough (not A Russian Name)

Posted by snow raven, 22 November 2005 · 39 views

I have been feeling a tad run down of late, and to top it all off, I now have a horrid chesty cough that has appeared from no where. I havent had a cold recently, so I can only guess there is a chesty cough virus going around (hopefully not on onset of bird flu, anyway). It catches me when I breathe, talk (much to the amusement of Mr Raven) and well -...

Trip To London (well, Ground Floor Of Harrods)

Posted by snow raven, 12 November 2005 · 34 views

We got back from London about an hour ago. Not much to say really, except don't bother on a Saturday 6 weeks before Christmas. Oh and posh people have no dress sense, manners and are arrogant fools. An hour in Harrods and I could bare it no longer!

Plus my feet are killing.

Gosh, what a miserable blog!!

Birthday Suprise (belated)

Posted by snow raven, 11 November 2005 · 34 views

As some of you will know, I have been building my hopes up that Mr Raven might just use his own initiative and do something out of the ordinary for my birthday. For some of you lucky people who have experienced a partner sweeping you off your feet, this will probably involve a romantic trip to Paris, or a week in Cyprus. For me, a meal out at the local...

Nosey Old Bint...

Posted by snow raven, 06 November 2005 · 111 views

......thats me. I just couldnt resist looking for my birthday presents.. and I have found one (well, it had better be my bithday present). Part of me is shocked that Mr Raven has actually remembered (and taken the hint)...... and the other half is disapointed at myself for looking for them. :D I add the word 'them' as there had better be more...

Feeling Down

Posted by snow raven, 04 November 2005 · 50 views

I'm having one of my very rare 'feeling down' moments. No good asking me why, as I cant answer that question! I wouldnt go as far as to say I feel depressed, as having been genuinely depressed, I know I can snap myself out of this current 'down' mood.

However, I just felt the need to write down (or say out loud!) how I...

Shock Horror!

Posted by snow raven, 02 November 2005 · 41 views

I came home from work tonight to find my blood pressure results on the mat (well, floor, since we dont have a mat to wipe your feet) Anyway, it turns out that after 10 months of tests, they have discovered.............................................. that I dont actually have any problems what so ever with it! My 24 hour blood pressure results were:...
